Front End Filter

Front end Filters are typically narrow band crystal filters. These are designed to be inserted between the radio and the antenna. Front end filters are used to reduce or eliminate RF interference created from the increasingly crowded RF airspace. One common user of front end filters is the specialized mobile radio user or SMR.

Filtronetics, Inc. can produce a front end filter for your application for any frequency between 5 kHz to 500 MHz. Front end crystal bandpass filters are typically packaged with RF connectors. Connector options include but are not limited to BNC, UHF, OSM, TNC, SMA, N, RCA, or SMC connectors. Front end filters are available in 2, 4, and 6 pole versions. The use of a higher order filter yields greater channel separation at the expense of insertion loss and cost.  Because Filtronetics is a custom manufacture, we can supply any achievable center frequency / bandwidth combination.
