Frequency Control Filter An EMI or electromagnetic interference filter and a frequency control or radio interference filter are designed to reduce unwanted noise from a power or signal line. These filters typically operate at frequencies on the order of 1 KHz and below. Filtronetics, Inc has made many custom EMI / frequency control filters that meet Aerospace and Military requirements. We specialize in custom packaging that meets severe environmental requirements. Frequency control filters allow systems to meet EMC or Electromagnetic Compatibility requirements by eliminating potentially harmful noise from outside sources. These filters can be configured to accept AC lines, DC lines or both. Most frequency control filters incorporate capacitors and/or inductors in order to achieve there filtering. However, our custom or radio interference filters can also incorporate other components such as bleed resistors, rectifiers, relays, and protection diodes. Moreover, for weight sensitive applications, such as airborne and space, Filtronetics can produce lightweight frequency control filters by utilizing aluminum housings. In addition, we have developed special potting and assembly techniques to reduce heat build-up and increase vibration reliability. Some of our frequency control filters have passed Qualification Vibration tests that included 24 hours of random vibration with levels over 24 GRMS. Teflon and HAPTZ wires are typically used for Hi-rel EMI filters. Filtronetics, Inc can supply EMI / frequency control filters with current ratings up to 100 amps. They can have from 1 to 100 individual or combined lines with both differential and common mode rejection requirements. We have facilities for Insertion Loss measurements, DCR testing, Burn-in (including 400 Hz), Insulation Resistance testing, Current Overload testing, ESS testing, Thermal shock testing as well as other testing capabilities on premises. These tests can meet MIL-STD-220, MIL-STD-202, and MIL-F-18327 requirements. |
