Filter Bank A filter bank consists of two or more filters connected to common input and output nodes by some type of electronic switch. The RF signal is routed through the filter of choice by a digital control bus. Typical systems often employ a clean-up filter at the common point on the output node. Filtronetics Inc can integrate any realizable set of filters into a filter bank. The filter bank can be designed to work with virtually any voltage supply combination. However, industry standards are +5V, -5V, and +15V. Switch technologies include pin diode switches and GaAs switches. Channel selection can be controlled by many different logic’s including TTL and CMOS. Any type of filter can be incorporated into a filter bank assembly. Standard types include lowpass, highpass, bandpass, and bandstop filters. Also, an all pass or attenuator network can be incorporated into the filter bank. Frequency range is from DC to 6 GHz. Some filter response realizations include Buterworth, Chebyshev, Cauer, Gaussian, Bessel (maximally flat delay), Equal ripple delay, Legendre as well as custom responses. The filter bank can be group delay equalized, amplitude equalized, phase equalized, amplitude matched, delay matched, phase matched, amplitude tracked, delay tracked, or phase tracked. We have special designs for good ring-down or overshoot response as well as good IP3 or third order intermodulation characteristics and IP2 or second order intermodulation characteristics. Our filter banks have been utilized in systems in military, airborne, testing, and commercial applications. We can produce from one to millions of filter banks for your application. A filter bank can be packaged in surface mount (SMD), through-hole, and connector (BNC, TNC, SMA or N) versions. Filtronetics is certified to ISO 9001. |
